1877년에 설립되었으며 세계 최고의 미술대학으로 손꼽힌다. 전 세계에서 온2,480명 가량의 학생으로 구성되어 있는 학교이며 19개의 studio major와 fine arts, architecture, design, art education의 학부와 석사과정이 있다.
